Feeney vs. Wood: Grand Final Animosity Continues in 2026 Supercars Season (2026)

The tension between Feeney and Wood is palpable, and it's a story that refuses to go away. This ongoing feud has its roots in the dramatic Grand Final of 2025, an event that still stings for Feeney.

As the leading drivers gathered for a media call ahead of the 2026 season opener in Sydney, the air was thick with an awkward tension. Feeney, Wood, and the reigning champion, Chaz Mostert, were among the drivers summoned to the NEP studios, Supercars' new broadcast partner.

During the event, a trailer for Supercars' upcoming documentary series, "Road to Glory," was played. Feeney, who dominated the 2025 season but was robbed of the title due to a controversial incident, turned his back on the screen whenever footage from Adelaide was shown.

"It's still raw. I can't bring myself to watch it," Feeney confessed to Speedcafe. "The documentary will be a dramatic series, focusing on my downfall at the end of last season. I'm trying to move on, but all the questions keep bringing me back to that moment."

Feeney revealed that Mostert had reached out to him after the Gala Awards, ensuring there was no bad blood between them. "Chaz is a mature guy, and I have no issues with him," Feeney clarified.

However, when it came to Wood, Feeney was less forgiving. Wood had sent a text to Feeney in the aftermath of the incident, but it was left on read. "I haven't spoken to him, and I don't plan to," Feeney stated, making it clear that the animosity was still present.

Wood, for his part, confirmed to Speedcafe that he had tried to reach out to Feeney via text but received no response. "I wanted to move past it, but I'm focused on this year and our program with Toyota," he said.

Despite his reluctance to watch the documentary, Feeney expressed support for Supercars' efforts to promote the sport and its personalities. "I enjoyed filming and the golf outings with the crew. It's a great initiative," he said.

"But I'm not here for reality TV. The show will paint some of us in a good light and others in a bad light. It's an interesting dynamic."

The feud between Feeney and Wood is a story that continues to captivate fans, and with the new season upon us, the question remains: Will these drivers be able to put their differences aside and focus on the road ahead?
